Ashur-uballit IAshur-uballit I (A??ur-uballi? I), who reigned between 1365 and 1330 BC, was the first king of the Middle Assyrian Empire (1365 - 1050 BC). His defeat of the Mitanni king Shuttarna II marks Assyria's independence from this kingdom, and the beginning of its emergence as a powerful empire.

He reigned in the last capital city of Harran from 612 BC to somewhere between 609 and 605 BC, having escaped Nineveh during the siege and capture of that city by the Babylonian-Mede-Scythian alliance in 612 BC.
