squat lobster
Squat lobsters are dorsoventrally flattened crustaceans with long tails held curled beneath the thorax. They are found in the two superfamilies Galatheoidea and Chirostyloidea, which form part of the decapod infraorder Anomura, alongside groups including the hermit crabs and mole crabs.
