Slalom is an alpine skiing and alpine snowboarding discipline, involving skiing between poles (gates) spaced much closer together than in Giant Slalom, Super-G or Downhill, thereby causing quicker and shorter turns. Slalom skiing may also refer waterskiing with only one ski.
