Governor-General of Australia
The Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia is the representative in the Australian jurisdiction of the Australian monarch (currently Queen Elizabeth II),Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia according to the Constitution of Australia, which provides that a "Governor-General appointed by the Queen shall be Her Majesty's representative in the Commonwealth..." As such, the governor-general is President of the Federal Executive Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Australian Defence Force, as well as viceregal representative in the Australian Capital Territory.
